About Northern Exposure Men's Wilderness Trip

This coming September the Northern Exposure Wilderness Ministry from First Baptist Church will be headed to Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada for a week long canoe and camping trip. Wilderness has long been a staple at First Baptist Church and the Algonquin provides a unique opportunity to unplug, be challenged, and grow.

The goal of a wilderness ministry is simply to take our protective lids off and expose ourselves to reality so that we can experience the transforming power of God in our lives. There are many fringe benefits from such a ministry; building self esteem and a sense of accomplishment, group building, and the development of leadership skills to name a few. The bottom-line goal, however, is that every participant come out knowing that God’s Word will transform his life if he will simply submit to Him. In some, the response is immediate; in others it is not apparent for a long time, but the truth is that no one comes out quite the same as they went in!
